Ham-aaaaaaahhhhhhhh-m!

Luke recently went to a local hamam, which is an updated version of the Roman baths. It's a time-honored tradition here, so why not? He joined up with some of the students visiting from the states (all guys) and went looking for the nearest bath house.
It was a little uncomfortable at first, as none of us knew what we were doing, but they were patient and steered us along to where we needed to go. Basically, you put your towel on, sit in a uber-humid room and douse yourself with warm water, and wait for the scrubbing. After 5 minutes of vigorous scrubbing comes the masaj. This was the best part. You skin is hypersensitive since its outermost layer was just ripped from your body, which actually makes the massage better. The masaj is done with soap and water and is a nice 10 to 15 minute trip to Ellysium. Afterwards, you can hang out in the cooling room or just go lie down, but since we didn't know what we were doing, we just changed back into our clothes...oops.
Luke will definitely be going again...
